When different elements and styles are used artfully to create a desired effect within a space, good interior design becomes a commanding force! Arrangement, colours, décor, furniture, and motifs - all play a role in communicating a certain aesthetic, purpose, and standard. This, collectively, becomes a great talking point for any business set-up, and you cannot minimise the role of a solid base to work on: Flooring.
Not only would you have to consider appropriate flooring materials for your corporate flooring and whether they make a durable option, but also the environment your space is built in - add to that, your brand, business model, associated colours, and so on. The specifics help make your design plan most successful - it’s about narrowing it down to get it right.
Flooring is as much a part of a brand’s overall storytelling as is any element of interior design. As a supportive feature, being literally the ground you rest your feet on and walk over, your floors are surfaces that you, your clients, employees, and guests most interact with. For some, it might not strike them immediately, but they will recall the way your floors make them feel! Think: Acoustics; colours and patterns; comfort and texture; smells; and softness (including durability and firmness).
Your choice of flooring should not work in a way that feels separate from your brand or office space - it needs to be functional while complementing and reflecting your brand’s aesthetics. The right flooring can improve brand experience and reflect brand personality via:
Colours, patterns, and styles draw people in. You can create an atmosphere, add to it, and create strong recall value. While the use of colour is powerful, it’s important to keep in mind your environment and lighting - you would like a flooring style that is memorable but not jarring. Welspun Flooring’s View in Your Space feature comes in handy here when you’re studying different flooring options. This feature allows you to see how your space looks with a particular flooring option on our website.
The feeling of solid ground underneath your feet is everything. Wellness-wise, the right kind of flooring material can make your tiling options grounding and soothing. Flooring that enhances air quality is a plus point.
Welspun Flooring’s HealthyFloor™ technology was developed in this manner - its anti-microbial and anti-viral properties make our tiling options superior because they absorb carbon dioxide. Our carpet tiles also emit very low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs are known to trigger allergies, discomfort, headaches, etc.). When you look at design, plainly, the above factors can seem so basic that they might get overlooked, but if you plan well, these features can become winning traits for your brand, and space.
It’s also essential for brands and businesses to note that floors are not just surfaces - they become part of a space in the most salient, supportive way. This is where comfort and the feel factor or as we say, feet factor comes in. Considering that commercial properties receive a high volume of foot traffic, wear and tear of your tiling options is a given. However, there are ways to select flooring materials that last long, minimising frequent replacement. Our Carpet tiles, manufactured with a Highly Resistant Fibre called Ny6+™, are classic because they provide comfort, softness, and thermal insulation. On the other hand, our harder surface flooring options can provide foot comfort too - our Click-N-Lock® flooring options possess an IXPE backing underlayment that offers cushioning, enhanced comfort, and soundproofing. Welspun Flooring’s Stone and Wood Click-N-Lock® tiles are also scratch-resistant, slip-resistant, and stain-resistant.
Any time you enter a physical space, the surroundings are what you first notice. Your flooring style can determine where you’d like to pull your customers’ and clients’ attention first. Flooring should, essentially, act as a feature that builds its charm slowly - through a solid base, neat functions, and colours and styles too.
When your flooring does the talking on behalf of your brand, that’s a next-level trait. Your brand’s approach and values, including care towards customers and employees can be expressed clearly through your flooring options. The psychological impact of flooring on clients and employees cannot be underestimated because it aids in brand recall, reinforces the brand aesthetic, and fosters appreciation when your clients and employees connect with it.
In this manner, calming and inspiring flooring designs influence your clients’ and employees’ moods and perception levels.
Your flooring options can also eventually grow to be components that classify as distinct brand signals for your business, communicating your company’s creativity, eco-friendly, luxury, and trust factors.
A project for Google Ananta by Welspun Flooring
Known to be Google’s second-largest campus outside the United States of America, Welspun Flooring helped transform the floors for Google Ananta in Bangalore. We created a tactile floor carpet to aid the visually impaired. This was done through rounds of sampling, colours, yarns, and techniques, while testing our options with visually impaired people. The name, Ananta, which means infinite or limitless in Sanskrit, helped us define the role of flooring in brand identity, here, to create a tiling option that embraces technological innovation.
Flooring is a feature that can create a stunning first impression for a brand, its stores, or associated workspaces. With Welspun Flooring, the importance of commercial flooring becomes clear as every aspect is considered: from visual appeal to aesthetic impact, comfort factor to sound absorption, air quality to withstanding properties, and more.
